Bring your own AI key

FlossForge has no server, so it uses your key and talks to the provider directly from this page. Everything below has a free tier. The key is kept in this browser's local storage and nowhere else.

No key? Everything still works — FlossForge falls back to its own built-in designer, which reads your words for colours, objects and styles. It just can't be imaginative the way a model can.

What this actually does

A language model reads your description and proposes a design — style, colours, motif, layout, repeat. That is the only thing it does. It never chooses a knot.

Everything after that is a knot engine written from the craft rules: it checks the design can physically be tied, repairs it when it can't, simulates every knot to draw the preview, and works out the cut lengths with the arithmetic shown so you can check it.

Where the engine had to compromise — a colour that couldn't appear where you asked, a shape approximated — it says so on the pattern rather than quietly producing something you can't make.
